Iowa Farmland Auction Results September 2016

DreamDirt’s Farmland Market Analyst tracks farmland prices across Iowa to maintain our comparable sales database offering our clients the best most current information available for creating accurate farmland appraisals. This information is collected from other auctioneers and real estate brokers and includes DreamDirt’s transactions. IOWA FARMLAND PRICES SEPTEMBER 2016

As we move into Fall the farmland sales scene it heating up.  Harvest has started and we are seeing what a tremendous crop we have in parts of Iowa.  How that affects the final numbers is yet to be seen, but some areas have had an exceptional start with some really high yields.  Last week the USDA announced they will be making more than $7 billion in payments under the ARC-County and PLC programs to assist participating producers with price losses in the current market.

For this months sales our average dollars per CSR2 point came out at $100.44 across the state of Iowa.  Last months transactions averaged $98.43 statewide so we were up slightly this month.  Sales in the month of September averaged $7231 per acre.  In total 7998 acres of sales were collected by DreamDirt with a total sale prices of $56,477,360 in total farmland sales across the state.
