Average Farmland Prices In Iowa
Week 8 in Iowa farmland auction sales was marked by quality of farms being offered and as has been the trend, very few auctions. When you look at the CSR2 ratings of the farms that were sold at auction in Iowa last week you can’ help but notice just how high quality the farms are and that changed the trend line this week tipping it up from the flat line we’ve been seeing. This week showed the premium available for good farms in todays market giving us a average price per CSR2 point of $109.12 for the week.
Farmland Sales In Iowa
During week 8 1679 acres were sold in 15 parcels of which 96.36% of the acres were tillable farmland acres. Parcels sold this week averaged 84.37 CSR2 with the vast majority of the farmland auctions happening in northern Iowa. Only Fremont and Union Counties saw farmland auctions in southern Iowa this week.
Average Price Per Acre Of Farmland In Iowa
The average price of an acre of farmland in Iowa for the week was $9293.67 which was the highest price of the year and likely tied to the quality of farms sold this week and possibly showing us that not all CSR2 points are created equally. Less is less and more is more.
