Iowa Farmland Prices August 20th – 26th

There was a total of 25 tillable farmland auctions that happened this week in Iowa. A total of 2,404.56 acres were sold. The average price per acre for the 25 auctions is $12,899.52/acre and $170.56/CSR2 point.

219.18 acres in Ida County, Iowa is the top selling farm this week selling at $23,400/acre sale on Thursday, August 25th. This farm is located on HWY 20 East of Holstein, IA. According to Iowa State University, the Land Value Survey which was released in December of 2021 Average Farmland Value (Price Per Acre) for Ida County was $11,210. Will be curious what the survey shows at the end of this year for prices per acre. 

The second highest selling farm is in Jasper County with 120 acres sold at $17,100/acre sale or $204.55/CSR2. There were 3 tracts altogether that sold by auction and tract 1 sold for the highest. Tract 2 sold for $14,300/acre and Tract 3 sold for $10,700/acre. Differences in tract prices were due most likely to the CSR2 values of the farm and the number of tillable acres. This farm is located Southwest of Lynnville, Iowa.
