Iowa Farmland Sales Volume For 80% Tillable Farms
Farmland Prices In Iowa For October, 2018
Farmland prices across Iowa continue to show signs of softening. A difficult harvest in most areas has hampered significant progress and farmers are enduring very difficult conditions. The mood across the countryside has been challenging this Fall. Farm prices have been under pressure from low commodity prices for an extended period of time and those pressure are compounded by fears associated with trade issues around the world and lack of a farm bill.
Average Price Per CSR2 Point For Iowa Farmland
The average price per CSR2 point this month was $107.31 across the entire state of Iowa for 80% tillable farms sold at auction. The price per CSR2 point has continued to show a decline but small decline. The improved volume of farmland sales has boosted the price per CSR2 point recently with quite a few high quality farms selling across the state.
Average Price Per Acre Of Tillable Farmland In Iowa
This month we saw an average price of $8204.00 per tillable acre of farmland across the state and across all sales. The price per acre has increased over the month from week 40 to week 44 of 2018. For the 10 months of 2018 we are actually seeing an improvement in price for 80% tillable farmland and gains in value which you can see in the farmland price charts below.
