Week 10 Iowa Farmland Auction Results: 80% Tillable Farms
Farmland Sales Summary
Every week in Iowa farmland auctions looks different and its easy to see this week was different from the last two weeks when quite a few high-quality tillable farms were offered for sale at auction. This week the average CSR2 of the tracts offered was 71.70, drastically different than the previous two weeks that averaged 83.29 and 84.37 and most comparable to week 5 when we saw an average of 71.40.
Average Farmland Prices In Iowa
The average price of farmland in Iowa was $7,444.30 this week while our running averages for 2018 is currently $7709.97 per acre. This weeks average on a per CSR2 point was $103.53 which is slightly ahead of the running average for 2018 of $99.91 per CSR2 point.
Farmland Sales Volume In Iowa
Sales volume was as low as we’ve seen in 2018 with 1025.15 total acres offered for sale with only 960.45 acres tillable. Our report is measuring 80% tillable farms only, other farms with less tillable farmland. So far this year 14,097 .64 acres have been offered at auction with 12,533.85 of them being tillable acres. This weeks sales volume accounts for 7.27% of the total farmland offered this year so far. This week a total of $7,625,052.50 was rounded up by Iowa auctioneers selling farmland.
