Iowa Farmland Auction Results
We are reporting for week 12 of Iowa farmland auctions and this week and it was a bigger week this week with volume up from the past couple of weeks. Demand for farmland continues to be strong. Our price per acre this week shows a still increasing trendline from January 1, 2018 to now. This trend is expected to continue as we see low volume statewide.
Farmland Sales Summary
There is no new news this week in Iowa farmland sales, all things remain the same that we’ve said this year, sales volume is very low and tillable farms have tremendous demand right now. Its hard to overstate just how strong demand is at this point for tillable farmland. 18 parcels sold this week on 9 auctions and averaged over $8400 per acre with the highest sale being $12,800 per acre and the lowest $5600 in Washington County, Iowa. Across all parcels, we saw an average of $109.42 per CSR2 point which we see also on an increasing trendline. Our highest week this year was $114.40 per point, this week was the 3rd highest of the year.
Average Price Of Farmland In Iowa
The average price of an acre of farmland this week was $8,426.32 down slightly to last weeks average of $8697.71 but still showing an increasing trendline for the 2018 year. The average CSR2 of farms sold this week was 76.23.
Farm Sales Volume In Iowa
This week 1718.4 acres of farmland that was 80% tillable or more was sold at auction. 1606.11 of those acres were tillable farmland. This amounted to $14,047,476 in farmland transactions statewide.
